STABLEFORD SHOOTOUT 2017 FINAL DEANNE CURBY · TUESDAY, 31 OCTOBER 2017 The field was HOT as was the weather. The eager fillies took to the course at a furious pace! Competition was fierce from the start with a triple chip-off at the first hole. The Davis stable was disappointed to withdraw their mare at this point. Up the hill for the run to the second, tension mounted with another triple chip-off. The young Mel Sheekey was second to go leaving a field of eight. one of the favourites out of contention. The fillies headed down the third, with fillies headed in varying directions. The dreaded creek jump together with a wild shot left the filly from the Forde stable and her mount Debbie Lorking out from the field. Nareda Leary was really leading the field at this stage showing her fine quality. Pink Day 26 Oct 2017

Image
What a day!! Nicky and Chas were greeted with a sea of enthusiastic 'pink ladies', to take part in today's special Fundraiser for Cancer day organised by them. A great day of high scores, fun and laughter was had by everyone. The course was in great condition as was the weather. Chas and Nicky provided pies and sausage rolls at the half way point for a bit of  extra strength or was it the mulligans that gave the extra point here and there! And then there was the raffle. Ione Clarke was the lucky winner of the set of Wilson golf clubs, however Ione asked them to be raffled off again and Colleen Henry was the lucky winner. Congratulations to you both. Thanks Nicky and Chas for all the effort involved in organising another fun, successful Pink Day. The day raised over $1500 to assist those suffering from Cancer. Thank you also to all of you who participated for your enthusiasm and generosity. The day's winners were Vicki Duesbury and Aiki Harrigan with 47 Points c/b.
