Breakers Ladies Golf Club Wamberal

Happy New Year everyone. Hope you are all relaxed and rested and ready for another great year of golfing. Be warned there have been some very good scores in the Summer comp which will end this Thursday 2 February. High 30's and some 40's with the highest being 44! It looks like a very competitive season ahead. Our Opening Day is Thursday 9th February. We have a full field of 72 playing, so if you have not put your name down yet, or if you need to withdraw, you will need to phone Colleen Henry on 0412 411 721. This day is a shot gun start so make sure you are at the course by 7am for 7 30am. Sandwich orders can be placed and paid for before start of play, so have change ready and allow time to do this. Cost will be approx. $5. We will be collecting money on Opening Day, or you can, pay on 2nd February to avoid the rush. The all inclusive cost will be $35. This is made up of $10 for the Continuous Comp; $10 Donation for weekly prizes; $5 for Golf NSW medal competitions and

Our hearty CONGRATULATIONS to Joan O'Connell who has received an OAM for service to golf in the Australia Day Honours list. For those who are not aware, Joan has been deeply involved in golf administration for over 40 years! Apart from extended time in numerous roles on club committees, first at Gosford and then at Terrigal,  Joan was on the District Committee for over thirty years, many as President. She is now a Life Member of Central Coast Women's Golf Association. Joan was also on the State committee.  She spent many years touring the State rating golf courses and helping to run tournaments. She is now an Honorary Member of GNSW.

Get your game in order early this year with a lesson from Nicky.  She is conducting clinics on Friday 20th January and Friday 3rd February.   With early starts to beat the heat 8:30am and 10:30am at Bateau Bay Driving range $30 (includes balls).  Ring the pro shop on 4384 5691.

Our summer comp was played in hot and humid condition today but it did not stop our ladies with some great scores posted. The winner of the 18 hole comp was Monica Haines with a score of 39. Ione Clarke was the winner of the 9 hole comp with a score of 21. NTP was Ione.  Well done ladies.

The Summer Comp commenced last Thursday under an overcast sky. The winner of the 18 hole comp with  a great score of 42 points was Janice Adlard.    Annette McInnes won the 9 hole comp. The competition continues on Thursday. Cost is $12. You must indicate to Nicki on checking in whether you are playing 9 or 18 holes as the 18 hole scores are sent to golflink.
